Hernán has guided companies from early stage to market leadership, enabling multimillion-dollar equity and debt raises, negotiating directly with regulators, and structuring innovative financial products under evolving legal frameworks.
His career includes leadership roles at high-profile fintechs such as PayPal, Klar and Revolut, where he drove regulatory innovation, product enablement, and strategic partnerships across the region. He also practiced at top-tier law firms including Hogan Lovells and Arizpe, Valdés & Marcos (AVM), advising on major M&A, project finance, and corporate governance matters. Recognized as a skilled negotiator, he consistently bridges legal strategy with business objectives, delivering creative solutions to regulatory challenges, building lean compliance functions, and managing transformative growth in competitive industries.
Hernán holds an LL.M. in Corporate Law from New York University School of Law and a Law degree from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, where he graduated with honors. He has also completed specialized diplomas in Energy Law and Sustainability and Constitutional Procedure Law. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, he is an active contributor to industry forums and has been a speaker at leading fintech and banking conferences in Latin America.
